Poster Session Proposal
ORTESOL Spring Workshop, April 30, 2022

Share your research, an OER, a teaching tip or a special project during the Poster session at the annual spring workshop. Poster sessions are self-explanatory exhibits that allow participants to engage in informal discussion. For this virtual poster session, we are taking advantage of the power and flexibility offered by an online format to share professional work with peers through images, video, slides, and more on Padlet.

Complete this form with details about your proposed poster session. If your proposal is accepted, you will be notified and provided with formatting requirements for uploading to the Poster Session Padlet.

DEADLINE for poster submissions: *EXTENDED* to April 25, 2022.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
-- Topic: Importance, currency, and appropriateness
-- Theoretical Framework: Session informed by theory or approach
-- Research Methodology (if applicable): Description of research and data analysis
-- Conclusion: Relevance to and implications for the field
-- Proposal Writing Quality: Clarity of proposal as an indicator of presentation quality

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
-- The range of topics within ELT and the relevance and importance of the topic to conference attendees
-- The number of presentations on the same or similar topic and balanced theme or “strand” coverage
-- A balanced range of session types
-- Maintaining a diverse group of presenters (geographically, NEST/NNEST, workplace/level taught, etc.)

Please note: Posters will be created on Padlet and “displayed” for the duration of the institute and available in the public sphere after that. Padlet allows a variety of media to be uploaded and shared; we encourage you to be creative and engage the audience by posting links, videos, images, PDF summaries of your poster, and more, creating a dynamic and interactive poster. In addition, poster presenters are encouraged to interact with attendees asynchronously (e.g., via comments on Padlet) and/or synchronously through your own Zoom (or similar) link during the open exhibition. Presenters will receive additional information about using Padlet and the process upon acceptance.
