Call for Part-time Teacher and Administrator

The University of Shimane (Hamada Campus) is looking for an English

teacher/administrator starting April 2026. Responsibilities included teaching four – five 90-minute lessons a week and working in a Self-Access Center from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. when not teaching. The expected combined annual salaries of both jobs are approximately 4,000,000 yen. The position includes the following benefits: health insurance, employment insurance, welfare pension plan, paid holidays, and prefectural government apartment housing. The pay is in accordance with the University of Shimane pay scale.

Spring

English I

English I for repeaters

English Communication I

Research Paper Writing

Fall

English II

English II for repeaters

English Communication II

Preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, experience teaching at a Japanese university or college, publications in relevant journals, basic Japanese ability (JLPT N3 level equivalent or higher) and ability to use learning management system software.
