This year’s theme highlights the need for active practitioners to “sharpen the saw”! Ask any teacher in Oregon about the challenges they experience in relation to their jobs as English language educators and most would agree that building a sustainable career, managing time, working with limited resources, and our strained and uncertain political climate can lead to a deep sense of burnout.

Please join us in working to create a healthier community of practice!

    Key Conference Threads

    • Reflecting on what works: practical and creative strategies for positively teaching all four language skills to learners experiencing trauma, poverty, and marginalization.

    • Renewing your passion: building a sustainable work-life balance that allows for planning lessons, inspiring students, and trying new things while maintaining a commitment to your mental, physical, and long-term financial well being!

    • Envisioning the future: strategies for working to bring about change in your class, at your school, and in your state.

    • Enacting your dreams: tips and tools for developing a rewarding career, transitioning into new roles, taking on an entrepreneurial venture, writing great resumes, perfecting interview skills, and finding out where you belong.

Online Registration closes at midnight Friday, November 8th. Onsite registration will be available both days. Non-members can attend by paying onsite registration fees.

Onsite registration fees are as follows:

    • On-Site 1 Day (Friday OR Saturday). $75.0
    • On-Site 2 Days (Friday & Saturday). $125.00
