A not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization incorporated in the state of Oregon. ORTESOL's purpose is to promote scholarship, disseminate information, strengthen instruction and research at all levels in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages, and to cooperate in appropriate ways with other groups having similar concerns.
The ORTESOL board meets quarterly and members are elected for two year terms. Details of the board positions can be found in the Board Position Guidelines below. ORTESOL has a number of standing committees to assist with the running of the organization. Their duties are described in the Board Committee Guidelines.

ORTESOL is looking for dedicated ESOL professionals willing to commit time and energy to fulfilling our mission as board members starting in January 2020. Serving on the ORTESOL board offers opportunities for networking, CV building, gaining valuable experience and, especially, doing important work in education.
