Serving in a leadership capacity for the association offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth. Through their membership in ORTESOL and volunteering, ORTESOL leaders play a vital role in supporting the work of the association, which could not be accomplished without their time and expertise.
These positions will be for two years beginning spring 2019. Board members attend four board meetings a year (held on Saturdays in varying locations & available using video conferencing) and our annual Fall Conference. In addition to attending board meetings, each ORTESOL Board member has a specific set of duties and time commitments. Please review the duties of these board positions. Apply for the 2019 ORTESOL Membership Manager Internship!
In addition to our traditional board positions, ORTESOL is currently accepting applications for a paid internship. In this role, you will learn the basic business functions of an educational association and help to improve membership relations, communication, and retention. Association management is a growing career pathway in the nonprofit sector and ORTESOL can help you learn the ropes and start building a professional network right away.
The Membership Manager intern will complete 120 hours of service and learn to use Wild Apricot, a membership management platform. For 2019, this position will be paid as a quarterly stipend of $375 and receive a complimentary membership to the Willamette Valley Development Officers and ORTESOL. Possibility to stay on in 2020 with a stipend increase.
