Why do you want to join the ORTESOL Board?

I deeply value the mentorship that I have received from previous ORTESOL board members. After more than a decade of working as an ESL Instructor and program administrator, I believe I can be a mentor and support to the ORTESOL community. Things are changing the world of TESOL, and I would like to share what I have learned through trial and error as the Academic Coordinator the English Language Institute at Pacific University.

What skills do you have that make you a good candidate for this position?

Why do you want to join the ORTESOL Board?

I would like to learn more, and expand on the skills I have acquired at Portland State University as it pertains to Event planning, coordinating, collaborating, and sharing my passion for Applied linguistics, Design, and teaching English as a second language.

What skills do you have that make you a good candidate for this position?

I have worked with the Student Organization of applied linguistics to collaboratively, budget, plan, schedule, and run an event. This included advertising, as I am a graphic designer, creating merch like stickers, name tags, as well as scheduling guest speakers. Keeping communication open and engaging for distribution of tasks both volunteer, and assigned.
